Alongside this, we’ve highlighted the biggest upcoming quarterly earnings calls, which includes reports from CrowdStrike, Target, Broadcom, and Marvell.
Economic Highlights
In the US, headline releases include the monthly jobs report and non-farm payroll data for February. With January’s payrolls missing forecasts and unemployment easing to 4.0%, traders will keep a close eye on this month’s labour market trends. As for neighbouring Canada, key employment and trade figures are on the schedule for this week.
Across the Atlantic, the markets are braced for a 25 basis point rate cut as the European Central Bank (ECB) meets for its March monetary policy meeting. Meanwhile, the upcoming flash February eurozone CPI release is set to provide further indications as to inflation trends, while the updated Q4 GDP figures will offer a broader economic assessment. In the UK, housing market updates are in focus, with house prices, mortgage lending, and approvals all on the release sheet.
Moving across to Asia-Pacific, China’s highly anticipated trade and inflation data is due, while Australia publishes its Q4 GDP and trade figures. February’s flash PMI data indicated a rebound in Australia’s private sector after a disappointing end to 2024. The country’s business activity is also showing positive signs, expanding at its fastest rate in nearly six months.
